In September of 2000, Western Air started operations as a family business run by husband & wife team Captain Rex & Shandrice Rolle and as of 2019, they are the largest privately-owned airline of the Bahamas. Currently, they operate a fleet of SAAB340 which carry 34 passengers. They have had an order placed for Embraer 145LR jets which are still to be delivered.
